Buying one pair of bermuda shorts (I'm not even sure if they're called this way, they're definitely shorter than the average bermudas) or ruin one of my old pairs of jeans? I decided to pull the trigger (or actually, the razors but you know what I mean) on an old pair of high waisted mama's jeans. This is like, a delight to ruin; find the appropriate length to shorten, grab a kitchen grater or a razor and make all the occassional rips and tears. All I needed were an old pair of jeans, baggy enough to have this oversized look even when it's cropped right above the knee.
A pair of bermuda shorts would be ideal for winter too, provided that one can handle the cold, that is. Imagine it with a chunky sweater or a buttoned-all-the-way-up shirt, along with strappy heels or ankle booties. Fashion beats hypothermia people! Ok it doesn't, but you sometimes have to suck it up to look good.
I'll be posting the step-by-step DIY on how to recreate a pair of jeans yourself, along with the final result soon. In the meantime, here are some jeans bermudas that you can seek inspiration from one of these below, or check the boys' dept at Topshop; they got some good stuff going on there.
