Blue Velvet: in this month's beauty bag

in this month's beauty bag

This month's beauty bag is filled with pitch black eye products and dark red lipsticks -- temperatures dropping can only mean shades are getting darker too, no?

The pattern has been staying the same for years now, it's only the products that change my almost daily routine. I switched to an elf foundation, after learning about their parabens-and-oils-free policy, and I am very pleased with the results (especially with a price like theirs). Lancome's Renergie multi-lift works wonders as a base in days when I feel my skin a bit tight and not too firm.

After applying foundation, I apply 2-3 layers of concealer, switching between the MAC, the elf and a Too Faced one. I do consider myself to be a concealer expert; I've tried so many different products so I know my way around what's good and what's not. For the time being, I'm sticking to (only) these 3.

Lastly, I choose between red lips or black eyelids, using Apivita's lip balm as a base, and MAC's Viva Glam lipstick. For the eyes I usually draw a black line with a Korres eyeliner and then add some volume (and mess it up) with a Make Up For Ever eyeshadow pencil, again in black (of course).
